What usually goes wrong

On a gas furnace it’s often a dirty flame sensor, a cracked hot-surface ignitor, a stuck pressure switch or a limit switch tripping from low airflow. On a heat pump it’s a bad defrost board, a reversing valve that won’t shift, or the outdoor unit iced solid because a sensor quit. A lot of “no heat” calls are a thermostat wire or a clogged filter.

We find the fault, show you, and fix it. If a heat exchanger is cracked or the compressor is gone, that’s a different conversation and we’ll have it plainly.

What the visit involves

• Confirm the call for heat at the thermostat and check power to the unit.
• Furnaces: watch the ignition sequence, test the ignitor, flame sensor, pressure and limit switches, inducer and blower.
• Heat pumps: check refrigerant pressures in heat mode, defrost cycle, reversing valve and auxiliary heat strips.
• Check airflow: filter, blower wheel, return and supply temperatures.
• Explain what failed and what fixing it takes.
