What usually goes wrong

Most no-cool calls come down to a handful of parts. A capacitor that’s swollen and won’t kick the compressor on. A contactor with pitted contacts. A condenser fan motor that seized. A clogged drain line tripping the float switch. A low refrigerant charge from a slow leak. None of those mean the system is done.

We show up, put gauges and a meter on the unit, and find the actual failure. Then we tell you what it is and what it takes to fix. If it’s a capacitor, you get a capacitor.

What the visit involves

• Check the thermostat, breaker and disconnect before anything else.
• Open the outdoor unit: test the capacitor, contactor, compressor amps and fan motor.
• Check refrigerant pressures and temperature split across the coil.
• Inspect the indoor coil, blower and drain line for ice, dirt or a clog.
• Walk you through what we found and what fixing it looks like.
